Best Brunch Spots In Edinburgh For Your Next City Break

April 30th, 2019

So you’ve planned your weekend break to Edinburgh. You will have a lot of walking to do to explore this beautiful city. To make sure you are fueled well for the days of fun ahead, we have gathered some of the best brunch spots in Edinburgh.

You will find Loudons located pretty much right in the Old Town of the city. Here you will find options that go way beyond your classic bennies (although they have an enormously large variety of those too). This even includes vegan bennies too!

We Recommend to try:

Superfood Pancakes made with puy lentils and garlic pea chutney.

If you prefer locally sourced, organic and healthy brunch, then head to MILK. This place generated a lot of noise amongst locals and visitors and it quickly became of the go-to places in Edinburgh. The cafe has a minimalist and clean design so you can focus all your attention on the delicious food rather than the surrounding interior.

We recommend to try:

Hot Smoked Salmon made with kale, chilli butter and a poached egg

Toast is Edinburgh’s first wine cafe. They serve a variety of sandwiched and brunch dishes, alongside Mediterranean style small plates perfect for sharing. They take pride in their (mainly organic) wine selection and a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options on their menu too.

We recommend to try:

Huevos Rancheros made with chipotle tomato and black bean stew, feta, avo and poached eggs on top.

This is a perfect place for everyone in search of a good vegetarian/vegan brunch. Hendersons is the longest running vegetarian restaurant in the UK. This can only mean one thing – they have had the time to figure out the best and only the best dishes to bring to your table. They have the most amazing selection of deli-style dishes ranging from crepes to a vegan haggis with mash and gravy.

We recommend to try:

Spanakopita made with goat’s cheese and spinach served both hot or cold.

Finn & Bear

Finn & Beats sits on the bank of Water of Leigh and has a lovely terrace, so you can enjoy your brunch with a view. It served breakfast, lunch and dinner but people definitely admire their brunch options out of the lot. They even have a separate kid’s menu for the little ones.

We recommend to try:

Smokey Beans cooked in tomato ragu and topped with two fried eggs, salsa verde and avocado
